28 +1 Sandra London Semi-Secrets (Day 5)

The Secret: Great Quotations are <almost> like a religion of their own to me.

The Spill: I am not so sure that I ever truly realized this until I started blogging with To Live and Grind in L.A., but seriously, a great quotation can inspire me, uplift me, move me, touch me, and basically damn near COMPLETE me. Whether I start out in a dour mood, neutral, or already feeling fantastic, an ensemble of grand mots from an iconic figure on the world stage, or even a virtual unknown, can help make my day/week/month and life that much better. For serious!

Mind if I list a few of two of my all-time favorite women?

"All great achievements require time." -Maya Angelou

"I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you have to be able to throw something back."-Maya Angelou

"My life has been one great big joke, a dance that walks, a song that's spoke; I laugh so hard I almost choke, when I think about myself"-Maya Angelou

"There is nothing so pitiful as a young cynic, because he has gone from knowing nothing to believing nothing." -Maya Angelou

"It does not matter how you came into the world, what matters is that you are here." -Oprah Winfrey

"Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down." -Oprah Winfrey

"Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not." -Oprah Winfrey

"So go ahead. Fall down, The world looks different from the ground." -Oprah Winfrey

  1. See you doing it Ma, you smart, sexy thing you. I took pornographic photographs of myself today. Never did that before. I have no one to show them to. Wanna see? Hit me up on twitter. Be well, Miss Lady. mbhendrix
